EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000). It’s a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For other urgent medical issues, go to an Emergency Department.

Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

Lismore Base Hospital has an 18-chair, in-centre Dialysis Unit providing haemodialysis for people with end-stage renal failure who are unable to manage dialysis at home, and for those who are acutely unwell.

The Dialysis Unit provides: dialysis support for the Lismore Base Intensive Care and Cardiac Units; acute after-hours on-call dialysis services; and manages acutely unwell patients from the three Dialysis Units in the Richmond Clarence area.

Our Renal Unit also has a three-chair Home Peritoneal Dialysis Training Unit. The Training Unit provides home dialysis training to residents from both the Northern NSW and the Mid North Coast Local Health Districts, and some northern Hunter New England Local Health District residents. The Outpatient Renal Clinic is operated by a Staff Nephrologist from the Renal Unit.

Hours of Service: 7.30am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday
