Lismore Base Hospital has a nine-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The Intensive Care Unit provides care for patients with life threatening or potentially life threatening conditions. Sometimes admission to ICU is planned, such as after major surgery; however, patients may be admitted to ICU at short notice depending on their medical condition.
Nurses, doctors and many other health professionals are involved in caring for the patient using a team approach. Our unit is a training unit for nurses, physiotherapy and medical officers and we support undergraduates from several universities.
Patients may be transferred to metropolitan hospitals to continue their care and management if medically required.
Visiting Hours: Restricted 1pm- 6pm (current COVID-19 restrictions). Please use intercom phone at ICU entrance to arrange entry and apply antiseptic hand gel prior to entering, and wear a mask if requested.
