EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000). It’s a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For other urgent medical issues, go to an Emergency Department.

Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

Tweed Valley Hospital offers an extensive Outpatient Service for a range of health issues including fracture clinic, gynaecological needs, paediatric services, and pre-surgery.

Antenatal Clinic

Our maternity service has a number of pregnancy care options and specialised care clinics for women who are planning to birth at Tweed Valley Hospital. Care models include:

  • Midwifery led clinics
  • Midwifery Group Practice (MGP)
  • Obstetric complex care clinics
  • General Practitioner shared care
  • Outreach Antenatal Clinic at Murwillumbah District Hospital (see below)

Women and families wishing to birth at the Tweed Valley Hospital are first offered a 'booking in' appointment with one of our friendly antenatal midwives after their 12th week of pregnancy. Please book in before 12 weeks as we aim to see women 12 - 16 weeks into the pregnancy. In this appointment we will discuss your medical and obstetrics history, wishes for your pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey and the models of care available to you.

Our antenatal clinic operates Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:00pm. You can expect this first appointment to take about one and a half hours and partners are encouraged to attend.

Please contact the Antenatal Clinic, ideally around week 12 of your pregnancy, to arrange your first comprehensive care visit.
