EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000). It’s a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For other urgent medical issues, go to an Emergency Department.

Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

Hospital in the Home (HITH) patients are classified as hospital inpatients but are cared for in the patient’s own home. The service provides care for patients with acute problems such as infections requiring Intravenous Antibiotics, warfarin stabilisation, and complex wound care, with this treatment administered in the home.

If requested, we also extend our service to patients in Aged Care Facilities. Patients are admitted to HITH through either the ward, the Emergency Department, under a GP with admitting rights to the hospital, or by the hospital specialist Physicians or Surgeons.

Hours of Service: 8am to 4.30pm, seven days a week.
