EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000). It’s a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For other urgent medical issues, go to an Emergency Department.

Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

The Dietetics Department provides a range of nutrition services for patients at Ballina Hospital.

Inpatient services

While in hospital, patients have access to the Dietetics Department which provide enteral feeding support (nasogastric and PEG tube feeding), total parenteral nutrition (TPN), the provision of therapeutic diets, oral nutrition supplementation, and medical nutrition therapy education.

Outpatient services

Our Outpatient Services provide a range of group nutrition education as part of chronic care groups including:  cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab, falls prevention, osteoporosis re-fracture prevention, arthritis, and cancer groups.

The Dietetics Department also services patients at home with nasogastric and PEG feeding tubes, and patients who require oral nutrition support after being discharged from hospital as part of the home enteral nutrition (HEN) programme.
