EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000). It’s a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For other urgent medical issues, go to an Emergency Department.

Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

We offer free public dental services to eligible Northern NSW residents.

Our services include emergency, general and denture care. Our dental hygienists and oral health therapists provide free dental examinations, emergency pain relief, and general dental treatment to eligible children aged up to 18 years of age.

We also offer management of dental emergencies during normal clinic hours. A dental emergency can include:

  • dental trauma or injury
  • swelling of the face or neck
  • swelling in the mouth
  • bleeding from the mouth that won't stop
  • difficulty opening jaw and/or swallowing.

We also conduct an annual school program for public schools in the Northern NSW Local Health District.

To find out more, see our Frequently Asked Questions about the school program.

Our goals are:

  • To improve oral health within the local health district,
  • To reduce inequities for people accessing oral health services,
  • To reduce disparities in the oral health status of residents, and
  • To build a collaborative culture within the Northern NSW Oral Health area.
