Theatres

The Tweed Hospital has six general operating theatres, a 12-bed first stage recovery unit, a combined 2nd/3rd stage recovery area in our Day of Surgery unit, and a procedure room for Endoscopy/Gastroenterology patients.

Our Surgical Services Unit provides surgical care for patients of the Tweed region, providing Pre-anaesthetic assessment through to surgery and Post-operative care.

Our theatres provides general surgery, Orthopaedic, ENT, Urology, Colorectal, Breast/ Endocrine, Thoracic, Minor Vascular, Endoscopy/Gastroenterology, Paediatrics, Emergency, Orthopaedic Trauma, Psychiatry (ECT), Dental,

Pre Admission/ Pre Anaesthetic

It may be necessary for you to attend the Pre Admission/ Pre Anaesthetic clinic prior to your elective surgery.

If this is required, you will be contacted by the Pre Admission/ Pre Anaesthetic team prior to your date of surgery and you may need to attend either a face-to-face consultation, or a consultation via phone.

Hours of Service:

7am to 3:30pm, Monday – Friday (Pre Admission)
8am to 5pm, Monday and Thursday (Pre Anaesthetic)

Waiting List Department

Our dedicated staff work closely with our surgeons and managers to oversee the hospital’s surgical waiting lists. Our staff are committed to ensuring that all patients receive fair and equitable access to the treatment they require.

Hours of Service: 7:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Closed Public Holidays
