EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000). It’s a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For other urgent medical issues, go to an Emergency Department.

Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

The Speech Pathology Department provides services to children aged 0-5 years with communication or feeding difficulties. Limited services are provided to school-aged children with significant fluency, voice, feeding or severe speech sound disorders.

Treatment is tailored to the child's age and specific difficulties. Treatments range from direct therapy programs with the child, to parent/teacher advice and support, to home or school-based programs.

The School Health Nursing Service provides four year old Health Assessments and School Screening services to all schools in the Ballina region. This is a targeted service aimed at providing early assessment and referral for early intervention for at risk children and families.

We provide assessment and treatment for musculoskeletal and neurological conditions to children aged 1 – 17 years who may benefit from physiotherapy intervention.

This usually involves a comprehensive assessment and development of an individual treatment plan in consultation with the patient.

Most treatment plans involve education, self-management strategies and specific exercise programmes, as well as other physiotherapy techniques.

Our child occupational therapy service provides assessment, education and intervention for children aged 0 -18 years, and their families and carers.

We focus on child development, motor skills, sensory processing and thinking skills which may impact on the child’s involvement in activities at home and preschool/school.
