Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is an intense and often misunderstood mental illness affecting around one percent of the population worldwide. It affects many areas of a person’s life and relationships.
In a similar way to Psychosis, people with Schizophrenia experience hallucinations and delusions, and also experience thought and movement disorders.
A person with Schizophrenia may feel that others are controlling their body or thoughts. They often experience difficulties in starting and maintaining daily activities, and may have a lack of pleasure or joy in everyday life.
These organisations can provide more information and support for individuals, as well as family members, friends, and carers of a person who is experiencing Schizophrenia.
