The speech pathology service provides inpatient and outpatient services for people with swallowing and communication difficulties including language, speech, voice and fluency.

Child and Family Speech Pathologists work in conjunction with nursing and allied health services to provide assessment and intervention services to children with communication and swallowing disorders, and their families.
Our social work service supports clients and hospital inpatients, and their families, in the Ballina area with a range of issues such as risk of hospital admission or increased length of stay resulting from biological, psychological and social factors that impact their health.

Our Podiatrist works with clients who have foot and leg disorders to improve their mobility and enhance independence. This is achieved through the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and management of pathological foot problems and associated restrictions in function.
We provide holistic and consistent care for clients with high risk foot conditions including diabetic lower limb complications, peripheral vascular disease, neurological disorders of the lower limbs and paediatric lower limb development disorders.
We provide assessment and treatment for musculoskeletal, respiratory, post-surgery, lymphedema and neurological conditions for people of any age who may benefit from physiotherapy intervention.
We also provide services for clients with chronic disease and chronic pain.

The Paediatric Physiotherapy Service is for children 0-18 years who present with neuro developmental problems, gross motor delay, posture and coordination problems, developmental musculoskeletal problems, chronic and complex health needs or respiratory needs.

Our child occupational therapy service provides assessment, education and intervention for children aged 0 -18 years, and their families and carers.
We focus on child development, motor skills, sensory processing and thinking skills which may impact on the child’s involvement in activities at home and preschool/school.
We can also prescribe equipment and recommend modifications to the home or school environment for children experiencing difficulties with their movement and mobility.
The NSW Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) is an evidence-based public health program that aims to reduce the transmission of infections such as HIV and hepatitis C among people who inject drugs and the broader community. NSP outlets provide new injecting equipment such as needles and syringes, Fitpacks and other injecting equipment (such as butterflies, filters, swabs, water, spoons and cotton balls) as well as disposal facilities free of charge.
Dieticians help people understand the relationship between food and health. Dieticians can help you make dietary choices to support your health, and to prevent and treat illness and disease.
Dieticians can assist with a range of conditions including diabetes, overweight, celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, raised cholesterol, malnutrition, childhood feeding issues and tube feeding. They also see ‘Hospital in the Home’ patients.

Our Diabetes Educator provides diabetes education and support for people with diabetes and their families, either in one to one or group settings. They also work closely with the Diabetes Dietician. We see clients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as childhood diabetes and diabetes in pregnancy.
We also provide education to health care professionals and support promotional activities that encourage people with diabetes to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

The Transition Care Service offers goal-oriented, time-limited and therapy-focused care to help older people regain independence after a hospital stay. It provides older people with a package of services that includes low intensity therapy such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy, as well as social work, nursing support or personal care to maintain and improve physical or cognitive functioning.
The program aims to help older people return home after a hospital stay, rather than prematurely enter residential aged care.
Our community nurses provide a range of services including chronic and complex wound care, continence management, management of venous access devices, palliative care nursing, and referral to other care providers including allied health and the Aged Care Assessment Team.
