Violence Abuse and Neglect Services

We recognise the short and long term health impacts of violence, abuse and neglect (VAN), and provide a range of specialist VAN services that respond to these forms of interpersonal abuse. Violence, Abuse and Neglect refers to sexual assault, domestic violence and child physical, emotional abuse and neglect.

We have services that provide assistance to people who have experienced some or all forms of abuse.

There is a significant body of evidence that demonstrates the health impact of interpersonal violence. NSW Health has developed a framework to respond to violence, abuse and neglect. The supporting evidence for this framework, The Case for Change: Integrated Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect in NSW Health is available on the NSW Health website.
