Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit
Our 20-bed Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit allows patients to transition smoothly from hospital back into the community. We have a Rehabilitation Staff Specialist who sees all patients accepted for referral. Our Day Hospital and Outpatient service provides a multi-disciplinary team approach, including access to Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Social Work services.

Medical Ward
Our Medical ward is a 19-bed unit that provides care for patients within the catchment area as well as out-of-district tertiary hospitals. The medical ward can provide telemetry heart monitoring for patients with non-life threatening cardiac conditions. We provide compassionate end-of-life patient-centred palliative care for those in our community. Patients requiring specialist services will be transferred to The Tweed Hospital (TTH) or another facility.

Surgical Ward
Our Surgical Ward is a 12-bed unit which cares for elective general surgical, orthopaedic, ENT, urology, gynaecology and general medical patients. Our Surgical ward also acts as a receiving facility for patients at The Tweed Hospital (TTH) who require an extended length of stay. Patients who require specialist services will be transferred to TTH or another facility. Local general practitioners (with admitting rights), the hospital doctor on call, and visiting specialist surgeons and their teams oversee the delivery of patient care.

Renal Dialysis Unit
The Renal Dialysis Unit has five treatment spaces operating Monday to Saturday from 7am to 1pm. The unit provides services to patients within our local catchment area and offers holiday haemodialysis when spaces are available. Appointments and bookings can be made through The Tweed Hospital Renal Unit.
