In an emergency, always call triple zero (000). It’s a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For other urgent medical issues, go to an Emergency Department.

Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

Our Perinatal Infant Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (PIAOD) provides specialist and professional support to care for pregnant women.

The service is designed to address the barriers to accessing antenatal care and provide continuity of care during the perinatal period. Our clinicians are located at Tweed, Lismore and Grafton three days per week.

The role of the PIAOD Nurse is to:

  • provide supportive case management
  • provide an Integrated Care model involving a multi-disciplinary team, incorporating programs such as Safe-start Refer to other specialist services as required, for example AOD Counsellors, Residential Inpatient Withdrawal Units or Rehabilitation Services, General Practitioners, Antenatal Care, Mental Health, Aboriginal Health, Parenting support, Child and Family Health Team and Hospital Consult and Liaison
