Welcome to our new cohort of junior doctors, who bring fresh energy to the Tweed Valley and Lismore Base Hospitals.
Some have returned home to Northern NSW to start their first paid medical placements.
Since completing orientation, the interns have stepped into their roles across hospital wards.
Each JMO will gain experience in disciplines such as general surgery, general medicine and emergency care.
Acting Executive Director, District Medical Services A/Prof Malcolm Leek said the arrival of the JMOs had strengthened local healthcare services.
“JMOs play a vital role in our clinical teams and we look forward to these doctors making their mark in our hospitals,” he said.
“It’s exciting to see the new faces in the wards – they’re helping ensure our communities continue to receive high-quality healthcare.”
