This week we welcomed our first cohorts of new graduate nurses and midwives to our District for 2024. In total, we’ll be welcoming more than 190 new grads this year– our largest group ever!

They’ll be working across a range of hospitals in the Clarence Network, Richmond Network and Tweed Network, and are integral to our nursing and midwifery workforce.

NNSWLHD Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Katharine Duffy thanked the graduates for choosing a rewarding career with NNSWLHD.

“We’re pleased to be welcoming a record number of new graduate nurses and midwives across the District this year, and to also offer these staff permanent roles which support our efforts to grow and train a sustainable local health workforce,” she said.

“Our nursing and midwifery service has some incredible mentors and teachers who will nurture these new graduates to develop in their chosen specialties.”
