For one day only, the ‘Lived Experience’ art exhibition will be on show at the Lismore Regional Gallery on Wednesday 24 November 2021.
Around 20 experienced and new artists created the works as part of a Mental Health Month art workshop designed to help participants benefit from the restorative power of art and creativity.
All the artists have a lived experience of mental health issues and recovery.
“This project is a chance for people with lived experience to share their stories and perspectives with the community, improve their self-esteem and pursue a creative outlet,” said Tamahra Manson, Manager Richmond Clarence Mental Health Services.
The exhibition is a collaborative project by local mental health organisations including Open Minds, Well ways, ACON, Momentum Collective and Lismore Community Mental Health.
“Everyone is welcome to attend the pop-up event, support the artists, and celebrate the hard work and creativity that is so central to the artists’ recovery,” Ms Manson said.
All artworks will be for sale.
The exhibition will be open from 10am – 3pm, with entertainment provided by musicians and poets between 10.30-11.00am. A light morning tea will be provided.
COVID-19 Restrictions apply.
