EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Hospitals have acknowledged the outstanding contributions by local nurses and midwives at their annual Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards held across the District. 

Tweed Valley Hospital 

Winners:

Tweed Valley Hospital acknowledged and celebrated the outstanding achievements of nurses and midwives at their annual Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards on Friday 31 May.

The awards ceremony was held a little late this year due to the transition from The Tweed Hospital to our new Tweed Valley Hospital site. Jacqui Cross, Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer NSW Health attended, presenting the award for Lifetime Achievement to Bernie Waller.

There was a table laden with pizza, an ice cream truck, and a lucky draw raffle of gifts organised by Tweed Valley Hospital A/Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Rachael Andrew and her team.

“We want our amazing nurses and midwives to know how valued they are,” Rachel said.
