EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Northern NSW Local Health District is inviting members of the community to its Annual Public Meeting at 2.00pm on Wednesday, 29 November at Lismore Base Hospital.

The meeting will include presentations from Chief Executive Tracey Maisey and Board Chair Peter Carter on the health district’s performance, achievements, strategic priorities, as well as an update on the Tweed Valley Hospital project.

There will be a special presentation on the District’s implementation of Voluntary Assisted Dying legislation which comes into effect across NSW from 28 November.

Ms Maisey encouraged interested community members to send in questions ahead of the event.

“The Annual Public Meeting is an opportunity for us to share Northern NSW Local Health District’s recent achievements, future plans and community updates,” Ms Maisey said.

“It’s also a great chance for people to ask questions and share their feedback on important health issues in our local area.”
