EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Healing Hearts Award
Published: 02 Apr 2024

Now is your chance to recognise an outstanding nurse or midwife in Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD), as part of our 2024 Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery Awards.

We are inviting members of the public to nominate nurses and midwives who have demonstrated outstanding care or contributed to improved health outcomes, for the Healing Heart Consumer Appreciation Award.

The annual awards acknowledge the contribution and dedication of nurses and midwives working in hospitals and health services across the District.

“These awards are an opportunity to recognise and celebrate our nurses and midwives for their significant contribution to patients and the broader community,” Katharine Duffy, NNSWLHD Director of Nursing and Midwifery, said.

“I encourage anyone who has had an outstanding experience with a nurse or midwife anywhere across our region to help us acknowledge the work they do by nominating them for the Healing Heart Consumer Appreciation Award.

“Our nurses and midwives do an amazing job every day caring for our community, and it’s wonderful to be able to acknowledge the positive impact their care has had on patients and their families.”

Nominations are now open, and close at 5pm on 14 May 2024.
