My name is Saawan Raghoobar. I migrated from Mauritius to Australia in 2007 to pursue further studies in nursing. Throughout my career, I have gained experience in various health care settings, mainly outpatient chemotherapy, medical, surgical and emergency departments.
My primary focus in the health care settings have been oncology, gastroenterology and palliative nursing.
I am privileged to have recently joined the Casino and District Memorial Hospital where I am a Transitional Nurse Practitioner (generalist) in the inpatient unit.
This is a new role for Casino, and I am excited by the opportunity to work with an excellent nursing, medical and allied health team and enhance my skills to apply them in a practical setting.
I look forward to using this experience to contribute effectively as a Nurse Practitioner in the future. Go team Casino!!!
Saawan will be working at both Casino and Ballina as part of his TNP program until mid-year. Whilst in Casino, he’ll be working closely with his clinical supervisor Dr Jakub Bilski in the inpatient unit. “Saawan brings a wealth of clinical experience and knowledge to the position. We’re excited about the future of our patient care with him as a TNP (and then NP!),” smiled Sandra Vidler, Acting Executive Officer/Director of Nursing Casino and District Memorial Hospital. “Saawan is a vital part of the care team for our patients and community.” |
