EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Lismore COVID-19 vaccination clinic re-opens in new location
Published: 17 Mar 2022

The Lismore COVID-19 vaccination clinic will re-open this Friday 18 March 2022 at Southern Cross University, providing vaccinations six days a week.

New location:

  • L Block, Southern Cross University, Lismore Campus
    Military Road, Lismore
    (entry via Gatehouse only)

Opening hours:

  • Monday to Saturday 7.15am – 3.45am
    Thursdays extended hours 7.15am – 6.45pm
    Walk-ins from 8.15am (Mon-Sat)

The clinic, which encourages walk-ins, will offer Moderna, Pfizer and Novavax vaccines for people 16 years old and over, as well as paediatric Pfizer vaccinations for children aged 5-11 years. The other two NSW Health clinics in Tweed and Grafton are also now offering Novavax.

Acting Chief Executive, Northern NSW Local Health District, Matt Long, said the vaccination team had worked hard to get the clinic up and running again in its new location as quickly as possible.

“Our vaccination clinic was just one of the many businesses inundated with floodwaters in the Lismore central business district,” Mr Long said.

“It’s been an incredibly tough time for our local area, and I have to give credit to our staff for their efforts in re-establishing the clinic so quickly.

“We are also very thankful to the team at Southern Cross University. Their support means we are able to quickly re-open our vaccination clinic.”

People whose appointments were affected by the closure of the previous clinic have been contacted to reschedule where necessary.

“Anyone who has an appointment booked for Friday onwards should present to the new clinic at their scheduled time,” Mr Long said.

“We have seen cases increase across NSW in recent weeks, and vaccination is the best way to protect yourself and your family from serious illness.”

If you have not yet had any COVID-19 vaccine, or are eligible for your booster, please book your appointment as soon as possible.

If a person tests positive for COVID-19 following their primary doses, they can get their booster once they have fully recovered from the virus. For most people this is around 4-6 weeks after infection.
