The Quad at Lismore will be buzzing with community connection, celebration and entertainment at this year’s Wellbeing Day, to be held on 26 October 2023.
This free, public event is an opportunity for individuals, peers, and organisations involved in mental health care and support to come together and celebrate diversity and recovery.
Activities will include a welcome to country, speakers with lived experience of mental health issues, poetry, bingo, food stalls, coffee and ice cream, as well as a range of stands representing local mental health organisations.
NNSWLHD Acting Director Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services, Trent Taylor, said the event highlighted the importance of connection and collaboration in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people in the local area.
“We know how important it is for people to have a supportive community around them when they are experiencing mental health challenges,” Mr Taylor said.
“This event brings together all our amazing mental health care providers and supporters, and showcases the range of care available locally to help people as they find solutions towards living well.
“It is also a great chance to have some fun and connect in a safe space, with plenty of activities to enjoy.”
The event is jointly funded by Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) Community Mental Health, Lismore City Council, Momentum Collective, Wellways and Open Minds.
Wellbeing Day is on 26 October, from 11am – 2pm at the Quad, Lismore.
