EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

What do you get when you mix sunshine, sizzling sausages and a whole lot of team spirit? A celebration worth remembering!

Thanks to the fantastic turnout for the 2024 People Matter Employee Survey, our Corporate Services crew turned up the heat (literally) with a series of barbecues across the District.

With prize money in hand for top-tier participation, they decided there was no better way to celebrate than with good food and great company.

From the leafy Rose Garden at Grafton Base Hospital to the bustling Capital, Assets and Resources Office in Lismore and all the way to the Engineering Workshop at Tweed Valley Hospital, the grills were hot and the vibes even hotter.

These gatherings weren’t just about burgers and buns. They were also a chance for colleagues from all corners of the Directorate to kick back, catch up and enjoy some well-earned downtime.

Here’s where the fun happened:

  • 🌹 Grafton Base Hospital – Wednesday 5 February
  • 🏢 Gaggin Lane, Lismore – Wednesday 19 March
  • 🛠️ Tweed Valley Hospital – Wednesday 16 April.

The 2025 People Matter Employee Survey will be open from Monday 18 August to Friday 12 September

This is your chance to speak up about what matters most in your workplace.

Your feedback will help shape the future of our health service so don’t miss your chance to be heard (and maybe your team will win the opportunity for a BBQ lunch!).
