EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All hospital emergency departments are open, so please don’t hesitate to present to your nearest hospital if you require urgent medical attention.

All non-urgent surgery has been temporarily suspended. Emergency surgery is continuing, and surgical services are being regularly reviewed. Affected patients are being advised and will be contacted to reschedule their procedures.

Murwillumbah Community Health and Lismore Community Health are closed today. Community-based care is being provided through our nursing and Hospital in the Home teams, and staff are prioritising those patients who are most vulnerable.

The four hospital COVID-19 testing clinics are closed today and tomorrow. These clinics are located at Tweed Hospital, Byron Central Hospital, Lismore Base Hospital and North Street Grafton. Please take a Rapid Antigen Test or present to an alternative clinic or your nearest emergency department for COVID-19 testing.

The NSW Health COVID-19 vaccination clinics are closed today and tomorrow. These clinics are located at the Tweed Mall, Byron Bay Services Club, Molesworth Street Lismore and Prince Street Grafton. Appointments will be rescheduled.
