Falls Prevention is Everyone’s Business is the theme of this year’s April Falls Month, highlighting the number of health professionals who play a critical role in preventing falls in community settings including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Podiatrists, Optometrists, Dietitians and General Practitioners.

The best thing people aged over 60 can do to prevent a fall is to incorporate balance and strength exercises into their routines. While Lisa is now a pro at these exercises, having diligently followed her rehab program, she recommends people start these exercises from the age of 40, to ensure they become a key part of daily routine to aid in preventing a fall in the future.

For more information about falls prevention in the community, contact Lisa Delaney from the Health Promotion team on 0473 053 466 or check out April Falls 2025 for Health Professionals.
