In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Expressions of interest for Maclean Community Advisory Group
Published: 09 Mar 2020

Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) is seeking expressions of interest from Maclean and surrounding communities to join the new Maclean Community Advisory Group.

Wayne Jones, Chief Executive, NNSWLHD, said the group will provide advice, feedback and guidance to the Health District on a range of health care plans and initiatives.

“We’re looking for people from a wide range of backgrounds to represent their community and help us steer the future of health in the region,” Mr Jones said.

“Involving patients, carers and the community is vital to help improve the care and services we provide.

“We look forward to working with the Maclean community around local health needs.”

Community advisory groups are established in most areas within the NNSWLHD, and the existing Clarence Community Advisory Group will continue to play an important role for the Grafton and broader Clarence area.

“I encourage anyone to consider joining the group to share opinions and contribute to building a better health service and a healthier community,” Mr Jones said.

For more information and to lodge an expression of interest, visit the Northern NSW Local Health District website or the NNSWLHD Facebook page, or contact Gerald May, Community Engagement Manager on (02) 6624 0333.

Expressions of interest close 5pm, Friday 27 March 2020.

The 2019-20 budget for Northern NSW Local Health District is more than $875 million, an increase of more than $37 million on the 2018-19 budget.
