EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

COVID-19 update - four cases in NNSW
Published: 04 Oct 2021

There have been four cases of COVID-19 in the Northern NSW Local Health District reported to 8pm yesterday, Sunday 3 October.

Two cases are in the Kyogle Local Government Area. One is linked to the Kyogle cluster. The source of the other person’s infection is under investigation.

One case is in the Richmond Valley LGA and is also linked to the Kyogle cluster.

One case is a household contact of an earlier case diagnosed in Byron last week. This person has been isolating throughout their infectious period.

The total number of active cases in Northern NSW is 32.

Stay-at-home orders are in place for Lismore, Casino and Kyogle until 11 October due to an increased COVID-19 public health risk.

Everyone in these areas must stay at home unless it is for an essential reason, which includes shopping for food, medical care, getting vaccinated, compassionate needs, exercise and work or tertiary education if you can't work or study at home.

COVID-19 testing clinics are open this long weekend across Northern NSW.

There are more than 500 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. Find a clinic at COVID-19 testing clinics or contact your GP.

We encourage people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as they are able to. Find available bookings at the Australian Government’s COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Finder (previously eligibility checker), or you can also call Health Direct on 1800 571 155 for assistance to book.
