EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

COVID-19 Update: 9 November 2021
Published: 09 Nov 2021

Northern NSW Local Health District continues to urge people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and to seek testing if symptoms develop, as four new cases of COVID-19 were reported to 8pm 8 November.

Three cases are in the Grafton area of Clarence Valley Local Government Area (LGA) and are under investigation. One case is in the Lismore LGA and is linked to a known case.

There have now been 153 total cases in NNSWLHD since 16 June.

Even if you are fully vaccinated you should get tested and isolate immediately if you have even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms – such as a slightly runny nose, a scratchy or sore throat or generally feeling under the weather.

New venue of concern

A new venue of concern for Northern NSW has been listed on the NSW Government website: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/stay-safe/case-locations/exposure-sites

Close contacts have already been followed up by the Public Health Unit directly as part of normal contact tracing processes. They must get tested and isolate according to the advice they are given by NSW Health.

Anyone else who has been at the venue below at the date and time listed is considered a casual contact and must immediately get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.

  • get tested for COVID-19 immediately and self-isolate until you get a negative result
  • get tested again on day 6 after your last contact with the COVID-19 positive person. If you feel well, you do not need to self-isolate while waiting for this test result.
