EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

There were 149 new cases in the Northern NSW Local Health District to 8pm last night.

14 of those cases are being treated in hospital, with 3 of those in the ICU.

The new cases were located in the following LGAs.

  • Ballina 23
  • Byron Shire 68
  • Clarence Valley  11
  • Kyogle 1
  • Lismore 17
  • Richmond Valley 1
  • Tweed Heads 28

People are being urged to get tested for COVID-19 at the first sign of symptoms and isolate until a negative result is received.

All Northern NSW hospital testing clinics are operating under usual operating hours over the holiday period. Clinics run by other organisations may have different hours in the holiday period, so please check their websites first.
