Two new cases of COVID-19 have been reported for Northern NSW Local Health District to 8pm 23 October.
Both cases are in the Lismore Local Government Area (LGA) and are linked to known cases. Initial investigations indicate they were infectious in the community.
Contact tracing is underway to determine venues of concern, and further information will be provided as soon as possible.
COVID-19 exposure sites are listed on the NSW Government website. We encourage you to regularly check the website as the list of venues of concern and relevant health advice is updated as new cases emerge and investigations continue.
Byron Bay residents with even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms are urged to get tested following the detection of fragments of the virus in sewage samples taken from the Byron Bay sewage treatment plant on 21 October.
The plant serves about 9,000 people.
There are currently no known active cases in the Byron area.
There have been 115 cases reported in the NNSWLHD since the beginning of the current NSW outbreak.
Anyone with even the mildest of cold-like symptoms is urged to immediately come forward for testing and isolate until a negative result is received.
There are 500 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW, many of which are open seven days a week. To find your nearest clinic visit the NSW Government website or contact your GP.
