EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

COVID-19 Update: 17 November 2021
Published: 17 Nov 2021

Northern NSW Local Health District continues to urge people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and to seek testing if symptoms develop.

One new case of COVID-19 was reported for NNSWLHD to 8pm 16 November.

The case is in the Ballina Local Government Area and is linked to an existing case. There have now been 177 total cases in NNSWLHD since 16 June.

An additional case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in a traveller from outside the District, and is currently under investigation. This case will not be recorded in the NNSWLHD figures.

Even if you are fully vaccinated you should get tested and isolate immediately if you have even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms – such as a slightly runny nose, a scratchy or sore throat or generally feeling under the weather.

There are 500 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. To find your nearest clinic visit the NSW Government website or contact your GP.
