EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

COVID-19 update
Published: 06 Nov 2021

Northern NSW Local Health District continues to urge people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and to seek testing if symptoms develop, with three new cases reported in the 14 hours to 8.00pm, 5 November.

There is one case in each of the LGAs of Ballina, Clarence Valley, and Lismore.

The cases in Ballina and the Grafton area of Clarence Valley are linked to previous cases. The case in Lismore is under investigation.

We remind the community to continue to regularly check the NSW Health website for venues of concern: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/stay-safe/case-locations/exposure-sites

There have now been 137 total cases in NNSWLHD since 16 June.

Even if you are fully vaccinated you should get tested and isolate immediately if you have even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms - a slightly runny nose, a scratchy or sore throat or generally feeling under the weather.

There are more than 500 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. Find a clinic at COVID-19 testing clinics or contact your GP.

To find your closest vaccination clinic, go to the the Australian Government’s COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Finder.
