While we continue to support our staff and communities impacted by the extreme weather and flooding events in Northern NSW, a number of health services remain affected, with temporary arrangements in place.
Hospitals and medical care
- All hospital emergency departments in the Northern NSW Local Health District remain open, please don’t hesitate to present to your nearest hospital if you require urgent medical attention.
Elective Surgery
- Elective surgery has recommenced at Grafton Base Hospital, The Tweed Hospital and Murwillumbah District Hospital. Ballina District Hospital and Lismore Base Hospital will recommence in a staged approach from next week. Further planning is underway to gradually return to full surgery capacity as soon as possible. Patients whose procedures have been rescheduled are being contacted by waitlist staff. Emergency surgery is continuing.
COVID-19 Testing Clinics
- COVID-19 testing clinics at Lismore Base Hospital, Byron Central Hospital, The Tweed Hospital and North Street Grafton are open 7 days a week. Residents are encouraged to take a Rapid Antigen Test if they are unable to attend a COVID-19 testing clinic.
COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics
- COVID-19 vaccination clinics at Tweed Mall and Prince Street Grafton have re-opened. The Lismore COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic has relocated to Southern Cross University and will reopen to the public on Friday 18 March. The clinic will be located in L Block, entry is via the Gatehouse only. Walk-ins are welcome from 8.15am onwards Monday to Saturday, and booked appointments are also available.
Coraki HealthOne
- The Coraki HealthOne has now re-opened.
BreastScreen Services
- BreastScreen NSW services in Lismore and Tweed Heads are up and running again. If your appointment was cancelled or you are due for screening, please contact BreastScreen on 13 20 50 when you are ready.
Lismore Sexual Health Service
- The Sexual Health Service office in Lismore remains closed at present. Clinics are operating from Lismore Base Hospital (limited days), Byron Central Hospital and Clinic 145 Wharf Street Tweed Heads.
- Lismore residents are welcome to attend the above locations, or telehealth appointments can be arranged. Please phone 6620 2980 for bookings.
Lismore Liver Clinic
- The Lismore Liver Clinic has temporarily relocated to the Riverlands Drug and Alcohol Centre, 75 Hunter Street, Lismore. Please phone 6620 7539 or 0456 816 097.
Community Health
- Lismore Community Health services are being provided from multiple temporary locations. The Molesworth Street clinic remains closed.

Pathology Services
- NSW Health Pathology’s collection centre at Lismore Base Hospital remains open for all pathology and blood tests. The centre is accessible via the Hunter Street entrance of the hospital campus, with ample, free parking available. The centre bulk bills and accepts all pathology request forms.
- Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8am – 5pm (Saturday and Sunday by appointment). No appointment is needed for general tests (blood and urine), but please call ahead for tests that may take more time, such as glucose tolerance testing, heart ECGs, Holter monitoring, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring. - NSW Health Pathology’s collection centre in Conway Street, Lismore remains closed this week.
