EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The amazing paediatric nursing team at Lismore Base Hospital laced up their running shoes to support Our Kids at this year’s Darrel Chapman Fun Run.

Most of the thirteen-strong team members ran the 10-kilometre event, and some even turned around and ran the 4km course straight afterwards with their families. Now that’s dedication!

Added to this incredible effort, the Blister Sisters took out the prize for the highest corporate fundraiser for the second consecutive year!

Tegan Moore, Acting Nursing Unit Manager, and Blistered Sister captain, said the team was very thankful for all the things Our Kids do.

“We're always excited to receive new equipment, and for funding that helps our staff stay up to date with training, so we can provide the best care for kids on our ward.

“We can definitely see where everyone’s fundraising efforts are going, so we’re very grateful.”

Tegan said it was wonderful that so many of the team were able to get together for the event and spend time with each other outside the ward.

“Some of us are regular runners or exercisers, but for some of us, 10kms is such an amazing achievement.

“Thank you to everyone for supporting us and the amazing Our Kids charity,” said Tegan.
