EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Emergency departments are located at:

Published: 19 Aug 2024

Aboriginal community members had the chance to meet with a broad range of health professionals at the Tabulam Aboriginal Health Post.

Mental Health, Aboriginal Maternal Infant Health Service (AMIHS), Immunisation, Women’s Health (including cervical screening tests) and Alcohol and Other Drugs service teams attended the July event.

Craft activities and a shared lunch topped off the great day.

Thank you to all the staff from NNSWLHD and MNCLHD who made the day possible, including Virginia Paden (MNC Aboriginal Immunisation Support Officer), Jessica Simms (Aboriginal Maternal Infant Health Service (AMIHS), Kate Willock (NNSWLHD AOD Perinatal Clinical Nurse Consultant), Jennifer McKay (Women’s Health Clinical Nurse Consultant), Marianne Pholi (Aboriginal Health Worker, Tabulam (Jubullum) Health Post Coordinator), Dormalee Anderson (MNC Aboriginal Environment Officer), Leonie Jefferson (Richmond AOD Aboriginal Health Worker) and Erica Ross from Ngunya Jarjums.

The day was funded in part by a NAIDOC week grant from Healthy North Coast.
