Hospital Visitors: Changes and Restrictions
Hospital visiting restrictions have been eased in Northern NSW Local Health District.
There are no longer any restrictions on the number of visitors a patient can receive throughout the day.
Visitors may now attend during the morning, however, visiting hours will end at 6pm daily.
Please contact your hospital if you would like more information, or to discuss alternative arrangements.
As a precautionary measure ALL visitors will have their temperature checked and will be required to check in using the QR code.
You will also be asked:
- Have you returned from overseas or from a COVID-19 hotspot in the past 14 days?
- Have you had close contact with a person confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19?
- Are you feeling unwell with any flu-like symptoms?
If you answer yes to any of these questions, or have a temperature of 37.5 degrees or above, you will not be permitted to enter the facility.
If you have any concerns during your pregnancy, including concerns for your baby’s movemnets, bleeding or any other urgent concerns, please call us immediately for advice.

Maternity, Women’s Care Units, and Birth Suites
Hospital visiting restrictions have been eased in Northern NSW Local Health District. Visiting hours for Maternity are the same as the main hospital visiting hours:
- There are no restrictions on the number of visitors during the day, however, visiting hours will end at 6pm daily.
- There are no restrictions for support during labour and birth.
- Nominated support people can also visit after 6pm. No other visitors are permitted at this time.
- We are continuing with our usual practice of supporting women to return home as soon as possible after birth to be with their family and loved ones.

Pregnancy Care appointments
We have reduced the number of face-to-face pregnancy care visits (antenatal clinics) and ask that pregnant women attending appointments at the hospital, come on their own whenever possible.
We will continue to contact women individually to plan their pregnancy care. Care will include telehealth consultations over the phone or video as well as face to face visits.
Our midwives are available 24 hours a day for ongoing support. Please don’t hesitate to contact your midwife or doctor for more information.

Multi Purpose Services
For Multi Purpose Services like Kyogle, Bonalbo, Nimbin and Urbenville, as a precautionary measure ALL visitors will have their temperature checked and will be required to check in using the QR code.
You will also be asked:
