Speech Pathology - Children
We provide speech pathology services to infants and children from birth to school age who reside in the Tweed and Byron shires.
Speech Pathology staff work together with the infant/child, their parents or carers and other service providers eg Nursing, Allied health, Psychology, Medical Specialists, Audiometry, and Preschools.
We assess and manage a range of children’s communication issues such as speech and language disorders or feeding difficulties. Speech Pathologists are present at the multidisciplinary “KidsScreen” clinic which services children with multiple needs from ages 0-5yrs.
Access criteria:
- Individuals can self-refer or parents and carers can contact the service to refer their child. We also accept referrals, with parental consent, from other health care providers, GPs or organisations.
- There is a waiting list and patients will be prioritised according to clinical need. A speech pathologist will contact you once an appointment becomes available.
