EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000). It’s a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For other urgent medical issues, go to an Emergency Department.

Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

The Child and Family Therapy Team (CFTT) provides therapy services to children from birth to 18 years of age who reside in the Tweed and Byron Shires.

The team consists of Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Physiotherapists who work together with the child, their parents and others (preschool or school) to assess and treat a variety of concerns including developmental delay, physical, sensory, communication and feeding difficulties.

We also offer KidScreen, a screening, intake and monitoring clinic for younger children, typically from birth until they start school. Older children will be referred to individual disciplines if required.

KidScreen runs weekly at Tweed Heads Community Health and on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Murwillumbah Community Health.

Access criteria:

  • Child and Family Therapy: Children 0-18 who reside in the Tweed and Byron Shires and do not access or are not eligible to access other services.
  • Anyone can refer to the service, with the parent’s consent.
  • For KidScreen referrals, an administration officer will contact the parent to schedule the appointment.
  • For individual appointments, the clinician will contact the parents directly by phone or letter once an appointment becomes available.
