Lismore Community Health (Adults)
Dietitians help people understand the relationship between food and health. Dietitians can help you make dietary choices to support your health, and to prevent and treat illness and disease.
This service is available to adults (>18 years of age) in Lismore and surrounding areas, as well as Evans Head.
The main areas we help with include:
- Enteral nutrition (tube feeding)
- Acute food allergy (life threatening)
- Malnutrition/ unintentional weight loss
- Gastrointestinal disorders such as liver disease, newly diagnosed coeliac disease, pre/ post gastrointestinal surgery, inflammatory bowel disease
- Eating disorders needing short term support (the person must also have GP and mental health input for the eating disorder)
- Poor wound healing
- Palliative care nutritional support
- COPD
- Pregnancy (nutritional deficiencies, difficulty gaining weight)
A referral from a GP, specialist or allied health professional is preferrable.
