Knee and Hip Arthritis Service
The Knee and Hip Arthritis Service helps people live better with knee or hip osteoarthritis.
The program aims to reduce pain and improve quality of life using strategies that have been proven to be effective for managing osteoarthritis.
These include:
- Osteoarthritis education
- Personalised exercise programs and management plans
- Strategies for living well with osteoarthritis such as pacing and flare-up management
- Review of general health and lifestyle factors that can affect osteoarthritis and joint pain
- Access to other services in the community.
Assessments and review appointments are conducted by a physiotherapist who specialises in Osteoarthritis management.
Clients require a referral from a GP or Specialist for treatment of osteoarthritis-related knee or hip pain, or must have a diagnosis of osteoarthritis of the knee or hip from a GP or specialist. This service is also available to patients awaiting knee or hip replacement surgery at Grafton Base Hospital.
Hours: Grafton 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday – Friday Limited days for Maclean/ Yamba clinics
