Dietetics and Nutrition
Dietitians work to assist people in understanding the relationship between food and their health. Dietitians can help individuals with their dietary choices to support their health, treat illness and disease.
This service is available to adults and children in Ballina and surrounding areas.
Conditions we can assist with include:
- Enteral nutrition (tube feeding)
- Acute food allergy
- Child feeding concerns
- Child weight concerns
- Malnutrition/ unintentional weight loss
- Gastrointestinal disorders such as liver disease, newly diagnosed coeliac disease, pre/ post gastrointestinal surgery, inflammatory bowel disease
- Eating disorders needing short term support (the person must also have GP and mental health input for the eating disorder)
- Poor wound healing
- Palliative care nutritional support
- COPD
- Pregnancy (nutritional deficiencies, difficulty gaining weight)

- Speak to your GP for a referral to a private dietitian under a Team Care Arrangement
A referral from a GP, specialist or allied health professional is preferrable.
