Northern NSW Academic Health Alliance
About us
Expert clinical training, world-class research and advanced healthcare from Australia’s educational leaders.
Revolutionising health education
The Northern NSW Academic Health Alliance is a collaboration between Griffith University, Southern Cross University, Bond University and TAFE NSW, together with the Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD). Leading professionals from each institution will provide expert multidisciplinary healthcare training and research tailored to the medical needs of Northern NSW.
The Alliance provides world-class health education through integrated clinical training and research at the Learning, Development and Research Centre, located on the Tweed Valley Hospital campus. The centre is a cutting-edge, multi-storey research and education facility, where students receive innovative training, placing them at the forefront of healthcare.
Health staff and students access modern laboratories and spaces designed to enhance wellbeing and learning.
World-class leaders
The Alliance is a long-term collaborative project. Formed in 2022, four leading education institutions and NNSWLHD saw a growing need for resources to deliver training and skills development locally within the region.
Planning for the new Tweed Valley Hospital provided an opportunity for the partnership to fund the fit-out of the new Learning, Development and Research building, commissioned by NNSWLHD, for students to receive expert clinical training and for patients to access the best quality of healthcare.
The future of healthcare
Expert healthcare professionals within the Alliance are committed to training and mentoring the next generation of leaders, producing world-class collaborative research that is closely integrated with our teaching, highly skilled graduates and, ultimately, better health outcomes for patients and communities.
