The North Coast NSW Human Research Ethics Committee

The North Coast New South Wales (NCNSW) Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) is constituted and operates in accordance with the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2007) incorporating all updates by the National Health and Medical Research Council, Australian Research Council and Australian Vice-Chancellors’ Committee.

The NCNSW HREC provides scientific and ethical review of human research:

  • Conducted at Mid North Coast (MNC) Local Health District (LHD) and/or Northern New South Wales (NNSW) LHD; and/or
  • involving participants, tissue or data accessed through MNC or NNSW LHDs.

Interested in becoming a HREC member?

HREC members volunteer their time to review submissions before a meeting and to meet once a month by teleconference, or by video-link through attending a NSW Health facility. HREC membership is for 3 years with the opportunity for extension.

The NC NSW is currently seeking expressions of interest from individuals with current research experience relevant to research proposals considered by the NCNSW HREC.
