Murwillumbah District Hospital – Cancer Care & Haematology Unit

The Cancer Care and Haematology Unit provides consultation and review by Consultants, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, biological therapies as well as a range of supportive therapies such as blood transfusions to patients with solid tumours, haematological malignancies and patients with non cancerous blood disorders. Furthermore, this unit is actively involved in new drugs by participating in clinical trials for the above indications. Access to the Cancer Care and Haematology Unit is by referral to the Medical Oncologists or Haematologist

  • The Unit operates on a Monday from 8.00am-4.30pm
  • Appointments are made through The Tweed Cancer Care and Haematology Unit
  • Referrals from GP’s and specialists should be sent through to The Tweed Hospital Cancer Care and Haematology Unit
  • New Haematology patients will be seen by Consultants at The Tweed Hospital and can have treatment at the Murwillumbah Unit, if preferred
  • Patients undergoing Clinical trials must attend the Tweed Hospital
