The Elsa Dixon Aboriginal School Based Traineeship is a two-year program funded by Training Services NSW – Department of Industry for year 11/12 students considering a career in Nursing with Northern NSW Local Health District.

We have opportunities for Aboriginal students entering year 11 in 2021 to complete the following course as part of the 2021- 2022 Traineeship program with Northern NSW Local Health District:

  • HLT33115 Certificate III Health Services Assistance

The School based Traineeship is part of your HSC. You simply attend work placement one day per week (100 days over two years) and attend one day per week with the Registered Training Provider (TAFE).

The Work Placement you do is PAID WORK and may be offered at one of the following locations: Tweed, Murwillumbah, Byron, Ballina, Lismore, Kyogle, Nimbin, Bonalbo, Urbenville, Casino, Grafton or Maclean.

Additionally, if you successfully complete your traineeship with Northern NSW Local Health District, we will place you onto our casual pool as an Assistant in Nursing/Midwifery (AIN/M) and support your applications for further employment with us.
