Tweed Hospital is a regional referral Level 5 base hospital providing a range of healthcare services including: acute and emergency care, surgical services, women’s care and newborn services, intensive and coronary care units, Mental Health inpatient facilities, Aboriginal Health, and Allied Health Outpatient Clinics.

On 14 May 2024, The Tweed Hospital will close, when all hospital services transfer to the new Tweed Valley Hospital.

The Tweed Valley Hospital opens 8am, Tuesday 14 May, at 771 Cudgen Road, Cudgen. All Tweed Hospital services, including the Emergency Department, operating theatres and inpatient services, will transfer from The Tweed Hospital to the new Tweed Valley Hospital.

If you need emergency medical treatment after 8.00am on Tuesday, 14 May 2024, go to the new Tweed Valley Hospital Emergency Department at 771 Cudgen Road, Cudgen.

Visiting Hours

The Tweed Hospital is open 24hrs, 365 days per year: General hours 10am to 8pm. See individual wards/units for specific times.

Parking information

Free onsite and street parking is available. Please refer to street signs or refer to the local council for restrictions

The Tweed Hospital has a range of on- and off-street parking options available within close walking distance to the hospital. Restrictions apply in some locations and are clearly signposted.

To drop off a patient to be admitted, attend an appointment, or to attend the Emergency Department please use the drop off zone at the Main Entrance off Powell Street

This is a ‘drop-off’ zone only and parking is not permitted
