Osteoporosis Re-fracture Prevention Clinic

Osteoporosis Re-fracture Prevention Clinic

The Osteoporosis re-fracture prevention clinic provides assessment and management of patients who fracture a bone from a minor trauma, in order to reduce their risk of further fractures.

The clinic accepts patients aged over 50 years, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients aged over 40.

Patients are referred from the Emergency Department, inpatient units, or their General Practitioner, and are reviewed by a Staff Specialist Physician to begin treatment if required. Our Fracture Liaison Co-ordinator also provides bone health education and referral to other services.
