Rotarians turn food and wine into funds

Ballina Food and Wine Festival organisers, the Ballina-on-Richmond Rotary Club, have donated $4,000 towards the purchase of a blanket warmer for the unit, to help patients having radiation therapy stay warm during treatment sessions.

Birthday present leads to life-saving treatment close to home

Casino woman, Carol Lockhart had been booking a mammogram each year around her birthday for almost 20 years, when she unexpectedly received a call-back in 2011. She was diagnosed with two malignant carcinomas and had a mastectomy, followed by two years of treatments including chemotherapy, bone scans, heart tests and radiation therapy. As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month she shares her treatment journey.
