Murwillumbah Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation & Heart Failure Services

The outpatient program involves an exercise component supervised by a Physiotherapist and Cardiac Rehab Nurse, and then multidisciplinary education on risk-factor modification, safe levels of activity, self- management and monitoring strategies. The program is suitable for most people living with or at risk of heart disease and those recovering from medical or surgical intervention. The program is held on Wednesdays from 11.00-2.00pm and 8 weeks are recommended, however this is flexible depending on people’s needs. The service also offers individual nurse assessment and education clinics as well as referral to other services as required.

  • Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation/Heart Failure Program: 11.00am – 2.00pm Wednesday
  • Cardiac Rehabilitation/Heart Failure Nurse Assessment and Education Clinics: 8.00am – 4.30pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Adult service – referrals accepted from all sources. A written GP referral is required for the exercise component of program.
