Lismore Base Hospital – Renal Unit

Lismore Base Hospital has a nine chair, In centre Dialysis Unit, providing haemodialysis for people with end-stage renal failure who are not able to manage dialysis at home and for acutely unwell people. The Dialysis Unit also provides dialysis support for the Lismore Base Intensive Care and Cardiac Units; provides acute after hours on-call dialysis services and manages acutely unwell patients from the other three Dialysis Units in the Richmond Clarence area. Lismore Base Hospital also has a two chair Home Peritoneal Dialysis Training Unit. The Training Unit provides home dialysis training to residents from both the Northern NSW and the Mid North Coast Local Health Districts. The Outpatient Renal Clinic is operated by a Staff Nephrologist from the Renal Unit.

  • Access to Dialysis Services at Lismore Base Hospital requires a referral into the Service from a Nephrologist with admitting rights to Lismore Base Hospital
